Last week, we shared how our business began β€” simply by doing something we already loved: making greeting cards.

You may feel ready to start something too, but you’re wondering:
β€œI have no idea what to do!”
or
β€œI have too many ideas and can’t choose!”
or even
β€œI have one, but I’m not sure if it’s good enough.”

Wherever you are, the important thing is to start thinking actively about your ideas. That’s why we made a short guide to help, and we’re sharing it in today’s newsletter. By answering a few simple questions β€” whether you have no idea, many ideas, or one you want to test β€” you’ll get more clarity about what to do next.
This guide isn’t about planning everything out, it’s to help you start noticing what could become your first idea.

Before you dive in, remember this: everyone (yes, you too!) has something to bring to the world.

It could be something personal β€” a skill you’ve learned and can share, something you enjoy designing, creating, or building, or even a passion you already have, like music, dance, or sports, that you could share with others.

And you might ask, β€œBut how do I make a business from skateboarding?”
Maybe you’d make short videos teaching tricks, write a newsletter about the best skate spots in your city, or design stickers or art for skateboards. When you love what you do, people feel it β€” and that’s what draws them in.

Remember the boy we talked about in our first newsletter, Caine Monroy? He built an entire cardboard arcade inside his dad’s garage just for fun β€” and soon people from all over came to play. What started as a small idea became something big, because he followed what he loved and kept going.

And what if you don’t have a passion yet? That’s totally fine.
Choose something you simply enjoy and know a little more about than most people β€” and start there.
Just remember to keep it simple.
